We are excited to introduce a new and dynamic curriculum for high school students called Don’t Get Debt Slapped. This curriculum was developed by CENTS after years in classrooms providing financial education lessons. We worked closely with teachers and students and incorporated their feedback.

Don’t Get Debt Slapped helps students obtain critical information so they can make an informed choice about what to do after high school.

Here’s some additional information about the curriculum:

  • An 8-lesson online curriculum, with each lesson containing automatically scored quizzes.  Teachers can track their student’s progress through the curriculum, including how much time they spend per each lesson.
  • Each lesson is the equivalent of one 50-minute class period.
  • The curriculum also contains over 30 short videos sprinkled in at strategic locations to help students retain key learning objectives.
  • It satisfies many of the new financial literacy standards. (We can send you a list of these standards in which the curriculum aligns.)

CENTS offers three delivery methods:

  1. When safe, a CENTS representative can come to your classroom to guide your students through the curriculum.
  2. A remote CENTS representative is available to guide your students through the curriculum in real time as well.
  3. CENTS provides trainings and/or quick reference Educator Guides so teachers and/or counselors can guide students through the curriculum on their own.
