I need the required class or classes for bankruptcy.

A bankruptcy filer must take:

1. A credit counseling class BEFORE he or she files bankruptcy AND
2. A financial education class AFTER he or she files.

Again, a filer must take both classes in order (meaning take the credit counseling class BEFORE he or she files and the financial education class AFTER he or she files.

• Pre-Filing Class

  CENTS is in the process of applying to be a provider of the pre-filing class (the first class). Currently, CENTS only provides the post-filing class (the second class). To find a provider for the first class, please go to the website of the United States Trustee: www.usdoj.gov/ust and look for providers that are approved to provide the course in your state.
