About CENTS

Consumer Education and Training Services’ (CENTS) mission is to provide education, training, and counseling to empower clients to take control of his or her financial situation by making fully informed decisions.

Through its education programs, CENTS helps consumers achieve financial literacy. Broadly defined, “financial literacy” is the achievement of skills and knowledge necessary for consumers to make informed judgments and effective decisions regarding earning, spending, and the management of money and credit.

Education results in more informed consumers who make better financial decisions. This empowers consumers to become more self-sufficient and secure, prevent or overcome excessive debt, and reach financial goals, all of which help make the economy stronger. With the rising cost of necessities such as housing and health care, financial literacy is vital knowledge in this economic climate.

We help our clients to gain knowledge, set goals, avoid common mistakes, and make positive changes. We want our clients to learn proper money management principles and implement these principles into their daily lives. We directly teach clients or train providers with best practices for how to achieve this goal with their clients. We hope our education and implementation coaching moves clients from uninformed choices to strategic plan, from chaos to peace. We want each client to become as financially informed and secure as possible. All of this will help with our ultimate goal of moving people along the financial continuum toward stability and success.
